Kylie Jenner is an American socialite, businesswoman, model, reality TV star. She is one of the sisters from the Kar-Jenner family. She is born to Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner (now known as Caitlyn Jenner). She is the youngest addition to the Kar-Jenner clan. She debuted in the reality TV show “Keeping up with the Kardashians” along with her sisters. Apart from being a reality star, she also has her makeup and skincare line, Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin.
KEEPING UP WITH KYLIE JENNER:
In 2007, Kylie, along with her parents and siblings, Kendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian, began appearing in the reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which telecasts the personal and professional lives of their family members. The series was successful and was telecasted by E!, and has been prone to numerous spin-offs and gossips till date. This series has about 16 seasons featuring all the drama. The TV series practically was a kick-start of their career making them one of the strongest clan. She has also made cameos in multiple music videos and movies.
Apart from being a television star, she collaborated with many companies, such as Steve Madden, Adidas, Nicole by OPI, etc., along with her sister Kendall Jenner.
On November 15, 2013, the Jenner sisters had announced that they would launch “The Kendall & Kylie Collection”, collaboration with PacSun which was launched in February 2013. In July 2013, they also launched a jewellery line Kendall & Kylie jewellery collection with Pascal Mouawad’s Glamhouse to create the Metal Haven.
THE “LIP” CHANGER:
Kylie Jenner invented the lips, which made her more famous than already she was contributing her fair share of gossip ladder among the Kar-Jenner sisters. Earlier days, Kylie used a lip liner to overline her thin lips to make it look plump. She told a weekly magazine that, “Her lips has been an insecurity of hers all her life, followed by a story of a guy whom she liked at that time, said she had thin lips and was not a good kisser’. She admitted relying on fillers, at one point which had become too far and more painful. As a result, Kylie’s Lip Challenge was a challenge done on TikTok, in which one would suction their lips using a small shot glass, possibly stopping the blood flow and making it look plumper and full. Even though she had claimed that she had her lip augmentation removed, it didn’t stop the speculations caused. She will always be the trendsetter of plump lips.

Kylie Cosmetics has been renamed from its former name Kylie Lip Kits after the launch of lipsticks and lip liners on November, 2015. Jenner has said in one of her interviews that she used her former insecurity as an inspiration for her brand and pursued it making her feel proud about herself and her brand”. Kylie funded her very own 15,000 lip kits which she saved during her model career which was about $250K. Kylie Lip Kits debuted in 2015 and was sold out within a minute crashing the server.
The company was renamed to Kylie Cosmetics in February 2016 and the production rate was increased to 500,000 kits.
By the end of 2016, the net worth of her cosmetic line was $300 million. “Love a woman who turns her insecurity into her strength.”
In the first 18 months, the company generated $420 million in revenue. Kylie Cosmetics maintains its reputation as a self- funded and self-run company. In a pop-up event in November 2017, Top Shop stores across the US sold Kylie Cosmetics products. In November 2018, Kylie Cosmetics began selling its products at Ulta Beauty. Most say that the main success of the brand is due to Jenner’s cosmetically augmented lips. Kylie Cosmetics heavily depends on social media for its marketing in where she teases about all her product releases which undoubtedly increased her followers on social media platforms.
Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin also advertise daily on their own Instagram account @Kyliecosmetics @Kylieskin but it’s her swatches along with her family and beauty influencers support it gets out of the sale in the market. Her Instagram account currently has 151M million followers.
